and localized expression for everyday situations. Learners can deal fluently with daily dialogues themselves. |

to Veteran
¡ô Communication Chinese
3 helps learners converse with a high degree of
fluency, and understand complex dialogues and narratives.
¡ô The Character Course builds up rapid literacy in Chinese by new approaches.
It includes over 700 characters frequently used in daily
life. This course starts by introducing systematically the form of Chinese characters. Then, we choose texts focusing on character recognition and formation with the aim of quickly enlarging vocabulary and acquiring reading ability. ¡ô The Basic
Reading and Writing Course helps learners start
reading articles on newspaper or magazine articles and writing descriptions about their interests. It gives learners a basic sense of how to break down sentences when they are reading and how to organize sentences when they are writing. The exercises include comprehensive forms of listening, speaking, reading, and writing that are closely linked and complementary to each other.

III. From Veteran
to Expert
¡ô Business Chinese
consolidates the learner¡¯s fluency in typical business environments, such as formal meetings, itinerary arrangement, attending a banquet, negotiations, signing contracts, etc. and dedicates approximately 10 percent of every class to business culture. ¡ô The Terminology
Course focuses on technical terms related to the learner¡¯s career, such as, for example, trade, finance, medicine, architecture, etc. ¡ô The Advanced Reading
and Writing Course ensures that learners with advanced Chinese will make obvious progress in their reading and writing skills. It involves writing compositions on a set topic, the use of vivid and colorful idioms, and the improvement of presentation skills.
